Of course there are plenty of microbrews and wineries around Cascadia so one’s beverage needs should be fairly well satisfied. Right? Well, ma’am doesn’t live by beer and wine alone – sometimes something stronger or more drinkypoo-like is required. Never fear, you’re not left with the only option of befriending your local moonshine purveyor or learning how to make your own bathtub gin! Bendistillery is located in Bend, OR and was founded by Jim Bendis in 1996. I wonder how he came up with the clever name. 😉 Anyway, they hand distill my second favorite gin and some fine vodkas.
My first favorite gin is a UK product called Boodles, but I like to alternate with Cascade so all my liquor doesn’t log more airmiles than I do. In Skagit County, Bendistillery’s fine products are available at most local state liquor stores. See WSLCB for product availability and prices.
