Fruitful bounty

8 08 2007

Eastern Washington is known for its orchards, but we have quite a few here on the western slopes as well. Jones Creek Farm is one such place. Whenever I think of apples or garlic, I think of Jones Creek. They have a seemingly endless variety of apples and it’s such a treat to discover and sample a new one each week! They also have many types of pears, Asian pears, plums and berries. See their website for the complete list.

Jones Creek Farm plums & gooseberries

I picked up these plums and gooseberries last week. The garlic harvest has started and Talea has a great variety of fruits and vegetables available. Tomatoes aplenty!

During apple season, I will write another post featuring their apples and garlic, but for now I will leave you with these beautiful Westside peaches.

Note!

The Skagit County Fair starts today and runs through Saturday! The Fair is a great place to learn about the bounty in the valley! Next week is the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.
